Immersion Assembly

        Immersion Assembly

Waking up energetically, I suddenly remembered it was the first day of school. Travelling to school I wondered what the topic was going to be for this term. I was very curious, so I started running. I finally arrived at school and we were all lining up to go to our immersion assembly.

Our topic for the term is ‘Survior’. Team 5 teachers did a skit. They had a competition, who can eat all their noodles with chopsticks. Mr Wiseman yelled out “3,2,1 GO!!!” The team 5 teachers were all shoving the noodles in their face. But what they didn’t notice was Miss Clark eating away, She ate all her noodles in 20-30 seconds.

Miss Clark won because she had already adapted this skill when she was 5. At the age of 5 is when she started using chopsticks, which is very impressive!

The other teachers didn’t even know how to use the chopsticks. Miss Peato said that her culture doesn't eat with sticks, they eat with their own hands. Miss In5[]grim said that she doesn’t use chopsticks at all, and that they use a fork to eat with.

A Time Something Went Missing

From this day on, I still haven’t found my missing clothing that I had lost in the city. Wanna know how I had lost my brand new clothes? Well, it all started off when my mum and I were going into the city to go shopping. We both had woken up early, knowing there would be traffic.

Firstly, I literally jumped in the car because I was full of excitement. We drove into the city, looking for a mall we could shop at. It was so loud I could overhear someone else’s conversation and I could barely hear my mum talking to me.

Then… I finally saw a free parking spot, I yelled out to my mum “Mum! Quick over there!” She then saw the free parking spot I tried telling her. My eyes glittered up as I was staring at the tall buildings. I tried looking for a children’s store. Finally, I had found A store where they sold clothing for children. We then walked out of the store with our hands full.

I remembered carrying something quite hefty. Looking down at my hand to see what I was carrying was no longer in my sight. So I blatantly asked my mum “Mum, where are my clothing?!” “I thought you were carrying then?” she said “Yes, I was, but...” I said.

After that, we went back to the stores we had recently been to, to find that they had not seen any of our lost items. My mum and I tried searching around, but we eventually gave up.

This made me feel furious/irritated. I felt like crying because I was prepared for this day and I only had the items for less than an-hour.

How To Prevent Yourself From Getting Sick

Once it turns winter thousands of people get sick everyday. Lots of people get sick in the cold season (Winter) They spread their germs in many different ways, like sharing foods, touching things, coughing, sneezing and plenty more. It is also very easy to catch a virus or a disease. Here are some tips on how to not get sick.

One of the easiest ways of staying healthy is eating a balanced range of food. This means eating from the 5 food groups with a focus on fruits and vegetables. If you do that then your body will receive all the nutrients it needs to be in the best condition to fight off invading germs

Another way to prevent yourself from getting sick is............
Washing your hands frequently. This means washing your hands before and after eating making sure you use proper soap and firmly massage the soap between your fingers. It also means then dry your hands thoroughly with a clean towel. By following these steps you can avoid yourself from getting sick.

Another helpful way to help yourself from getting sick is to not accept food from a sick person. (example) If a sick person offers you a drink they have already drunk, you do not accept. Otherwise, you can drink it unless they haven’t drunk it.By using this technique you won’t have to worry about getting sick.

By using some of these smart techniques you won’t need to stress about getting sick and spreading germs around.

(This is my explanation writing, it is about how to prevent yourself from getting sick. My literacy class were individually working on there own writing. This is my explanation writing, hope you enjoy!)

Reality Trip

Reality Trip

Today my class and I watch a terrifying show (Reality Trip) Starring in it were 5 New Zealanders, Kieran, Anna, Stevie, Peter and Stephanie. They had to travel to the Philippines to experience what people were going through.

They had to get into a suit so no germs were getting spread around, then they were practising how to make a hard drive. They had to use coal to make hard drives. They were not to talk, smile or listen to music.

The two most shocking part for me was how much Stephanie spent on all her clothing, she bought more than 1 shirts that all were $400 in New Zealand money.

The things I learnt in this show was to spend my money wisely, to remember how much time and effort it took to make some products.

Digizen T2W9

What makes a good digizen? Today in Math Miss Kyla came to talk to us about what makes a good digizen. What is a digizen? A digizen is a online good citizen, and what's a citizen? A citizen is a good person to there own country.

Anyways this photo is a good digizen. The face shows it's a positive person, the bubble is there because they think twice, the shirt represents our school, the arms are shown that they are strong and the arrows show that they are choosing to take the right path and leave good foot prints.

Tinkering Tools and Toys

Today for Zeal Zone our class spent time thinking and brainstorming about what we could do to make our school a better environment. My group and I were brainstorming, we thought we could change the green room into a cooking class, a arcade, hip hop class, art class and maybe some vending machines.

Our final decision was an arcade, where we can just play around and play games or free time doing anything. It is a only yr8 girl policy and NO boys are aloud in.

Smart Values

Today my class and I were working on a project that Miss Kyla shared to us. Our task was to write down each what we do on the internet to be Cyber Smart. We used the 3 p's which are Partnership, Participation and Protection.

Hopefully you can learn something from this picture that I have created using google drawing, also maybe I can apply this amazing lesson to my daily life, it is all about learning how to be yourself wherever you are or wherever you go.

My Visual Mihi

This is my Visual Mihi.
In the top left is The Book Of Mormon, and the reason why I have The Book Of Mormon is because I'm a Mormon. We have FHE (Family Home Evening) every Monday. The heavens are Celestial, Terrestrial and Telestail.

In the top right corner there is Maths. Maths is cool to me because I find it easier than Reading and Writing. Math is the best because I can learn lots of new stuff that I haven't even learnt.

In the bottom left corner it has New Zealand. I am from NZ and I Maori.

The last box remaining is music, I love music. If your stressed it's a solution that will help.
